Grapes!  The soul of world winemaking!

Hurray - We are finally establishing a test vineyard!

We will be trying hardy 'hybrid' grape varieties.  Hybrid varieties are bred from European wine grapes and winter hardy North America grapes.  North American grapes (like Concord and Niagara) make wines that are 'acquired' tastes - though they are popular in regions where folks grow up with them.  Hybrid cultivars attempt to capture the cold and disease resistance of native grapes, and tame the 'foxy' taste.

We will be trying:

Whites -
Chardonell
Traminette
Vignole

Reds-
Marechel Foch
Frontenac
GR7 (well - these are back ordered this year)

I'll post pictures when we have them in the ground and trellised
